Come join for a walk to explore the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with ARU sociologists David Skinner and Will Brown
Join ARU sociologists David Skinner and Will Brown on a guided walk around the Cambridge Biomedical Campus where the past, present and future of this rapidly developing place will be discussed.
We will begin with the history of 'New Addenbrookes' and why the Cambridge Biomedical campus was created, before moving towards the present day and discussing why AstraZeneca has chosen Cambridge for its world headquarters and the influence of it on the city. We will conclude with a look towards the future and the proposed expansion of the site and the role of the biomedical sector in Cambridge's future development.
The walk will last for approximately 90 minutes and will commence from the Addenbrookes bus station by the roundabout on Hills Road.
